Our Story

Talking Stones is a locally owned & operated family company that specializes in all types of custom stone engraving. We engrave a range of natural materials including tumbled river stones, small decorative stones/pebbles, sandstone, precious gems, marble and granite. In addition, we engrave glass, clay pavers, bricks, tiles, and stainless steel plaques.

Our business came about while searching for a suitable memorial for our pet Labrador "Lady". Our grief was compounded by the frustration of not being able to find a headstone that reflected lady's special place in our hearts yet didn't make the back yard look like a cemetery.

That's when we hit on the idea of engraving a tumbled river stone. Leaving successful careers in the corporate sector we "downshifted" in pursuit of a "sea-change" and set about the dream of building a successful custom stone engraving business that could support the efforts of animal welfare agencies and important causes that we believe in.

Working with our dedicated team of craftsmen and channel of like-minded pet industry partners we have created "Australia's most loved range of Pet Memorials".

Today, we have a burgeoning custom stone and plaque engraving business. We engrave small stones with words and phrases on pebbles which are used as place markers at weddings and special events as well as company logos for use in marketing campaigns and product promotions. We also help churches, schools and community groups implement successful fundraising programs where we engraving bricks and pavers as fundraisers.

We even engrave crystals, massage stones, house plaques/numbers, and engraving on objects for a myriad of other applications. Everything we create is "lovingly" hand crafted. Our attention to detail and standard of workmanship ensures you receive a quality object that you will cherish forever.
